Beef and Mushrooms with Pasta

This recipe is a hearty one. Warm and welcoming, perfect for the cold weather season.

Ingredients:

  1. 4-8oz dry pasta

  2. 8oz of mushrooms (canned or fresh)

  3. 1 lb. lean ground beef

  4. 1 tbsp. butter

  5. 1 tbsp. olive oil (to taste)

  6. 1 tsp. salt (to taste)

  7. 1 tsp. pepper (to taste)

  8. 1 tsp. basil (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta in salt water according to package

  2. Add olive oil, 1/2 tablespoon of butter to pan. Turn on medium to low heat.

  3. Add mushrooms to pan. Season with salt, pepper, and basil to taste.

  4. In a separate pan, cook ground beef thoroughly.

  5. Once pasta is cooked, set aside 1/2 cup of pasta water. Drain pasta. Once mushrooms are starting to brown, add pasta to pan with mushrooms.

  6. Continue to mix the pasta and mushrooms while beef cooks.

  7. Once the beef is browning, add pasta and mushrooms to pan with beef.

  8. Add parmesan cheese to taste. Mix together.

Notes:

Be sure to add pasta water to avoid the pasta from getting too dry.

You might also consider covering the pan with a lid while the mushrooms (and pasta) cook.
